CBI arrests husband of missing Raj nurse Bhanwari Devi

New Delhi: CBI arrests husband of missing Rajasthan nurse Bhanwari Devi. In a twist to the Bhanwari Devi disappearance case, her husband Amar Chand was arrested by the Central Bureau Of Investigation.

The investigative agency said the reason for his arrest is that he has not cooperated with them and has given different versions on the events that surrounded her disappearance.

Amar Chand was reportedly detained on Wednesday after he tried to flee from questioning.

Bhanwari, posted as auxiliary nurse and midwife at a sub-centre in Jaliwada village, around 120 km from Jodhpur, went missing on September 1 and former Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna was arrested as he is accused of having a role in her disappearance.

A CD allegedly showing Maderna in compromising position with the 36-year-old nurse, had come to light after which she went missing from Bilara on September 1.

Her husband had alleged she was abducted at the behest of Maderna.
