LA: They say you shouldn't mix business with pleasure. But it seems Karen Gillan has developed a soft spot for her Doctor Who co-star. Before fans get their knickers in a sci-fi twist though, it's not the title character Matt Smith.
Instead, Karen was spied locking lips with special guest star Andrew Brookes. The gangly British actor shot to fame playing Ashley in E4 comedy PhoneShop for two years.
He is now stepping into their time-travelling world, shooting scenes with the cast in Almeria, Spain. One Twitter user @Ruther2 wrote: 'Andrew Brooke is playing The Reckoner in Dr Who (and snogging Karen Gillan)'
Another fan @The_Gunn_Man added: 'Karen Gillan's 'mystery fella' aka the bloke from Phoneshop!'
Andrew has an impressive CV, having scored bit parts in EastEnders, Silent Witness, The Inbetweeners and The IT Crowd, before venturing onto the silver screen in Sherlock Holmes.
He is also set to join forces with Nicholas Hoult and Bill Nighy, for a role in Jack The Giant Killer. But whether love will blossom between the twosome remains to be seen, as just days earlier Karen was seen flirting with the Doctor himself.
News of the Scottish actress, 24, breaking up with long term partner Patrick Green came in January.
Yet Karen, who plays feisty sidekick Amy Pond, actually finished her six-year relationship with the photographer last year.
The split is believed to have happened when she returned from New York after filming the Jean Shrimpton drama for BBC, called We'll Take Manhattan.
