Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station achieves new record generation-SJVN

Shimla: The 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station owned and operated by SJVN Ltd. in Himachal Pradesh has made a new record generation of 1186 Million Units (MUs) in the month of July 2012; which is more than the earlier highest recorded monthly generation of 1151 MUs in August 2011. In addition to this plant recorded a highest ever single day generation of 39.015 MUs on 27th of July this year. The plant also achieved the highest Plant Availability Factor (PAF) of 108 % during current financial year.

The Power Station till date has generated 3305 MUs, while it is targeted to generate 7000 MU electricity during the Financial Year 2012-13.  With technology innovations in repairs and maintenance of underwater parts, substantial savings had been affected during this financial year.
