LA: Julian Clary has been crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2012. The camp TV comic sailed to victory fighting off competition from Coleen Nolan and Martin Kemp in tonight's jaw-dropping final.
He beamed from ear to ear as he made the walk from the sofa to the staircase to exit the house.
According to the Sun.co.uk report, Julian, in bright red lipstick and smoky eye make-up, told host Brian Dowling: "I've never won anything in my life, what will my mother say?"
Before adding: "I want to say thank you, you've made a 53-year-old homosexual very happy." Talking about his time in the house to Brian, Julian told how the experience was an emotional rollercoaster.
He said: "You don't realise your emotions are constantly manipulated by Big Brother... I'm a complete wreck." The star also gushed over his new found friendship with ex-Coronation Street star Julie Goodyear.
He said: "She's so fabulous, did you see when I was mounted? "She was constantly entertaining me and making me laugh, I was quite lost when she left. She stirs things up, I love her, I love you Julie."
And he also apologised for not being quite as eccentric as people may have hoped. He added: "You can't keep up the eccentric all the time, you need to preserve your strength, I apologise for not being constantly filthy."
Julian started his career in drag as Gillian Pieface but soon moved on to the act that first brought him fame — The Joan Collins Fanclub. Tonight the real Joan Collins showed her support for Julian via Twitter.
She wrote: “Congratulations @JulianClary — so thrilled you won! We’ve been playing poker and rooting for you... and voting for you too!” Former Loose Women star Coleen Nolan was the runner-up, leaving in second place.
Her time in the house was marked by her on-going rivalry with acting legend Julie. Telly personality Coleen told host Brian how she expected to hit it off with Julie as they were "both northern women".
She said: "I honestly didn't know whether it was just me being paranoid, but there was just a fakeness about Julie with me - and with everyone.
"It's when she said things like I love how you and your husband met - and I thought we met in a bar and I thought he was a p***k."
However Coleen did admit that despite their differences Julie did make a great housemate. She added: "She was a fantastic person to have in the house, very watchable, never said no to any of the tasks, she just didn't like me."
In third place was actor Martin Kemp, who won the hearts of the nation with his straight-talking behaviour during the show. On leaving the house he acknowledged the support of the cheering crowd saying: "Thank you so much for the banners and everything, I really appreciate it."
Martin admitted that one of the hardest parts of being in the house for him was nominations. He said: "It was tough in parts, the less people in there the tougher it became, I bottled out on one of them, I took the easy option and didn't use the real reason."
And daddy of the house Martin also said how he felt that Harvey, Ashley and Michael had the best game plan by becoming such close pals - and that he felt responsible for them as an older man.
He said: "I naturally took to being the father, I saw them make mistakes and tried to help them correct it because I knew when they came out it would affect them.
"Putting themselves together as a little unit - I thought it was the cleverest move out of all of it. I thought they would be first, second and third tonight."
When asked if he was playing the game Martin said: "My game plan was to go in there and be exactly who I am at home, I didn't want to be anyone different to that."
Self-confessed Big Brother fan Martin added: "It's everything I thought it would be, exciting, boring, a huge adrenaline rush - I've loved every minute of it."
The Situation left in fourth place, giving away his sunglasses and jacket to fans on his way to the interview hot seat. The well-mannered star of US reality show Jersey Shore said: "It means so much to make it to the final. Thank you for having me, I'm so happy to be here.
When asked about his relationship with Danica and Prince Lorenzo he grimaced and said: "I've come to a stage in my life where I've been a little bad for a little bit and I want to find a princess.
"I was drawn to her accent and the whole style. It makes me feel better that she did feel she crossed the line, but the eyes don't lie, she probably did fancy me subliminally".
Talking about his newly formed friendship with Harvey and Ashley - or HAM as they dubbed themselves - The Situation said he felt it was "poetic that we walked in together, were friends, then walked out together".
And he added how he felt about the changing face of Julie as the days wore on. He said: "Julie was like the grandma of the house, then towards the end when she was nominated, she had a total 360 turn and it was pretty apparent that she went from grandma to gangsta mama".
Olympian Ashley McKenzie left the house in fifth place, joking about his bromance with MC Harvey as he took his turn in the hot seat. He said: "When I walked into the house I thought he would be troublesome, but then the bromance happened."
Harvey was the first contestant to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house on final night, finishing in sixth place.
The So Solid star welled up as he walked down the stairs to the interview chair telling presenter Brian "the last four years have been tough".
He added: "My daughter man, this is for her". When asked if he was disappointed about not being the winner he said: "I believe people got to see enough of me, and that was important to me, it wasn't about the winning."
Harvey only received two nominations throughout the series, making him the second most popular amongst the housemates, next to his best friend Ashley who was nominated only once.
And Harvey was the only housemate who didn't squirm when they were made to nominate face-to-face.
He told Brian: "I like doing things face-to-face, I like looking in your eye, the eyes don't lie."
Talking about his differences with beauty Danica he said: "I don't like her games with men, she claims she doesn't know she's doing it, but she's a smart girl."
And Harvey also gave his upfront view on Julie. He said: "I've got respect for my elders, she reminded me of my nana... I didn't expect it, the switches in her character, it was more hurtful and disappointing coming from her.
"I still love her, I don't hold grudges you gotta move on in life." He also gushed about Ashley: "He's my mirror image, the world is his oyster, he'll win gold in Rio in four years."
When asked to describe the experience in one word, Harvey simply said: "Life changing."
