NY: The porn star-turned-science teacher who was fired from her job when the school board were alerted to her past profession pleaded for her job back yesterday and admitted she felt 'dirty' and 'shameful'.
According to the Daily Mail report, Stacie Halas worked at Richard B. Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard, California, until she was placed on administrative leave earlier this year when students found porn movies online of the 32-year-old, who called herself Tiffany Six.
At a hearing yesterday, she made an emotional plea saying that she realized she had let herself down but felt trapped because she needed the cash at a time when her parents and sisters couldn't even afford groceries.
Oxnard school officials said they never knew Halas had appeared in pornographic videos until April and they should have been told from the outset along with the rest of her employment history.
Oxnard School spokesman Tom DeLapp said: 'You lie to your boss, that's grounds for dismissal. The fact that she listed being a lifeguard and being at Subway sandwich but chose to eliminate the fact that she was in the porn industry is very telling.'
However Halas' attorney said it was up to the school district to look into her background. Richard Schwab also argued that though it may not be a respected industry, porn was still a legal one.
He told NBC: 'Prior employment is something you would normally look into. I think most of us have something in our backgrounds. And I ask anybody here to cast the first stone.
'What happened six years ago has not impacted her ability to be an effective teacher.'
District officials disagree and say her past - and the fact many students have seen pictures of footage of the teacher - will always be a distraction
A month after she was outed as a porn star, The Smoking Gun obtained an interview she carried out while she was dabbling in her other profession.
In it she speaks openly about her two jobs and said she 'probably' will get fired if she is ever outed as a porn star. When asked if she think her film career is risky she says: 'It is risky, very risky for me. Because I am a teacher.'
She then admitted she was a little worried about being discovered but said she did the movies because they were 'fun and exciting' and good money. At the time she was working at a public school. She started working at Richard B. Haydock in 2009.
The interviewer mentions a teacher who got into trouble for engaging in sex acts with her students to which she laughs and says: 'Well, at least I didn’t do the students. I have to say I’m not into the students, though. At least I don’t do that.'
School administrators spoke of their concern about disruptions that could result from Ms Halas returning to the classroom after a number of students viewed the porn footage.
During the interview, Ms Halas is asked if she believes she will get fired from her job and answers: 'Probably, it's a concern,' when the interviewer also notes that you will 'see it on the boys' faces if they ever find out'.
She added: 'I did work really hard', referring to her teaching job rather than porn role.At the interview’s conclusion, Ms Halas was asked what had brought her to porn.
'I think it’s just the excitement, doing something different,' she said.'That you’re not supposed to do, maybe. I don’t know. Kinda weird.'
Previously the school's superintendent, Jeff Chancer, acknowledged that her acts were within the law, but not the ethical code of the educational facility.
'Maybe it's not a crime as far as the penal code is concerned but we feel it's a crime as far as moral turpitude is concerned,' he said.
The teacher, who taught seventh and eighth grade science, has been on leave since the video surfaced in March. Several students have seen some of the X-rated material, in which she can be seen engaging in a wide variety of sexual acts with both men and women.
Videos she has allegedly starred in have risqué titles like 'Tiffany Six Shows Her Amazing Hot Legs At Casting' and 'Tiffany Six Stacked Blonde With Amazing Breasts'.
Unsurprisingly, the school officials do not want more students looking at the graphic content. The school sent a letter to parents that stated: 'It has been alleged that one of our teachers is depicted in at least one pornographic video and possibly others on the Internet.
'We are asking teachers to discourage the children from searching for and/or visiting these inappropriate sites.
'We ask that you be particularly vigilant over the next few days with respect to the Internet content being accessed by your child on his or her telephone or other Internet-ready device.'
