London: Mum-to-be Karen McMartin may have a good idea what her baby will look like — after a face appeared on her swollen tum.
According to the Sun.co.uk report, the incredible outline came into view as 25-weeks-pregnant Karen showed off her growing bump to colleagues at the hairdressers where she works.
She said: “I was in the staff room on a break. We were actually having a laugh at my belly button sticking out and checking for baby movement.
“Then Karen who owns the salon came in and said, ‘Oh my God, I can see a face’. She took a picture and we’ve been showing it to folk ever since.”
Karen, 25, who already has a daughter Chloe, two, with hubby David, added: “No-one can believe how clear it is. You can see a nose, mouth and eyes — even the cheeks.”
Boss Karen Monan, 45, who owns the Kazmark salon in Irvine, Ayrshire, said: “Karen was lying back and I was having a feel of her bump.
“Then she lifted her head up and all of a sudden the shape of her tummy changed — and this face just appeared.”
Last night The Sun’s medical expert Dr Carol Cooper said the “face” was actually an illusion caused by Karen’s belly button, an old navel piercing, veins... and stretch marks. She added: “The paler area that forms the ‘face’ may well be the baby’s back.”
