When you visit Port Blair, must see Ross Island, North Bay (Coral Island) & Viper Island Port Blair: Viper Island is the serene beautiful tourist destination and can be approached by harbor cruise originating from Phoenix Bay Jetty in Port Blair. This place is visited by number of tourists as it has multiple attractions with historical importance and also has mesmerizing picnic spots with natural picturesque environments.

Located in Port Blair, the beach around Coral Island is well known for water corals. The island with pristine sand beaches, edged by natural beauty is perfect for sea loving human and nature lovers. The coral reefs are beautifully adored by nature drawing many visitors.

The island is accessible from Port Blair via ferry. Ferry can be taken from Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex jetty and it will take around 15 to 20 mins to reach the island. Besides, one can also enjoy snorkeling and experience the underwater world.

Near to Phoenix Jetty of Port Blair, this island is famous for breathtaking view for under water Corrals and Marine Life as well as spectacular Natural Beauty. Snorkeling and Scuba Diving are also available for enjoying sea Corrals.

The crowd is more in North Bay Island because of the facilities are available for enjoying.  In the island huts and shelters are available for resting or for the tourists who don’t want to enjoy the sea or beach.

Water in this island is very clean. Due to the transparency of the sea water Corals can be seen distinctly along with Sea Lives like Tortoise, Parrol Fishes, Small Sharks etc. Glass Boats are also available here, which help  to enjoy seeing Corals and Sea Lives for those tourists who are not willing for Scuba Diving or Snorkeling.

Ross Island is one of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, about 2 km east of Port Blair. It was the Administrative Headquarters for the islands, before an earthquake rocked it in 1941. The headquarters were then shifted to Port Blair.

One can see remnants of an opulent past in the ruins of the church, swimming pool and the chief commissioner's residence with its huge gardens and grand ballrooms.

Ross Island can be reached by a short boat ride from Water Sports Complex. The island is controlled by the Indian navy, which requires every visitor to sign in on entering.

The small island with its treasure of ruins in it became the hot tourists spot in the territory. People desire to know more and more about Ross Island. This Island, the erstwhile capital of Port Blair during the British regime, is a tiny island situated a few kilometers away from Port Blair city.

The island presently houses the ruins of old buildings like the state Ballroom, the Chief Commissioner’s House, the Government House, Church, the old 'Andamanese Home',[1] Hospital, Bakery, Press, Swimming Pool and Troop Barracks, all in dilapidated condition, reminiscent of the old British regime.

Ever since Dr James Pattison Walker arrived in Port Blair aboard the East India Company’s steam frigate ‘Senuramis’ on 10 March 1858, this island remained under British occupation till 1942.

From 1942 to 1945, the island was under the occupation of Japan. However, the allies reoccupied the island in 1945 and later abandoned it. During British occupation, this island was the seat of power of the British.
