NTPC CMD Arup Roy Choudhury meets Andhra CM for setting up power projects

Hyderabad: A meeting held on 8th July 2014 between Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu and a high empowered delegation led by CMD NTPC Arup Roy Choudhury. During the meeting AP CM requested CMD, NTPC to expedite work on setting up of 4000 MW at Pudimadaka. Principal Sec. Industries was directed to finalize a suitable site within 15 days, so that NTPC can go ahead with setting up power project.
CMD, NTPC informed that about 200 MW from NTPC Jhajjar & 100 MW from NTPC Barh can be provided to AP immediately. CM directed Energy Dept to avail power from the above projects by entering PPAs with the above projects. It was also decided to avail power from NTPC Farakka on long term basis.
NTPC also agreed to set up a 300 MW solar park in Guntur Dist., through competitive bidding, so that AP can get solar energy at lowest tariff. This will add green energy to AP’s power portfolio.
Mr Arup Roy Choudhury, Chairman & Managing Director, NTPC along with Mr N N Mishra, Dir. (Operations) and Mr A K Jha, Dir. (Technical) met Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of AP. Mr JSV Prasad (Principal Sec. Industries, GoAP), Mr G Sai Prasad (Sec. to CM, GoAP), Mr Ajay Jain (Sec. Energy, GoAP), Mr Vijayanand (MD, APGENCO & CMD APTRANSCO) were also present.
