White tiger kills man in Delhi zoo

New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, a young man of about 22 years has been attacked and killed by a white Tiger in Delhi Zoo on Tuesday afternoon. The identity of the man has been confirmed as Maqsood hailing from Anand Parbat, New Delhi.

According to reports, witnesses who saw the killing said that the barricade between the visitors and the tiger enclosure was low.

The man fell into the enclosure while the tiger jumped and killed the man. Witnesses also added that the security was weak and too few to help in time. The body of the deseased is yet to be recovered from the enclosure and video footage shows the tiger carrying it around in his jaws.

However how the incident happened seems to be unclear; as some eye witnesses have said that the man fell into the enclosure and the tiger attacked much later him while others say that the a group of men was seen throwing sticks and stones within the enclosure and that they had been warned to not go beyond the enclosure limits but the youth had paid no heed to the warnings. He entered the enclosure to get photos of the tiger.

Witnesses say that noone helped the man after he fell in.

The white Bengal tiger is called Vijay and is about 5 year old.
