London: X Factor guru Simon Cowell is dating Jenson Button’s ex-fiancée Louise Griffiths. They have met and kissed several times, and Cowell even invited Louise to his £14million Beverley Hills mansion to celebrate his 53rd birthday.
According to the Sun.co.uk report, after one dinner date the smitten 34-year-old tweeted: “Going to bed as the sun is coming up.“Haven’t done that in a while! #fun.”
Last night a friend of brunette beauty Louise confirmed: “She and Simon have started to get very close. “It is early days but there is certainly a chemistry between them.”
Louise, a singer and songwriter, started dating F1 ace Jenson in 2000. They announced their engagement three years later, shortly after she left the BBC’s Fame Academy talent contestant.
But in 2005 they called off their wedding with just three months to go. Pals said the break-up was mutual, but Louise is thought to have been keen to start a family.
Meanwhile Cowell has had relationships with stars including singers Sinitta, 48, and 40-year-old Dannii Minogue.
He has admitting making a play for Natalie Umbruglia, 37, and being obsessed with Cheryl Cole, 29, when she was an X Factor judge In 2010 he became engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, and though they split last year they still often share dinner at his swanky LA home.
Cowell has confessed women find his inability to commit frustrating.He added: “Every girl wants to be number one and they’re very territorial.
“I like the fight, because otherwise I’d have a dull group of girlfriends.”
Louise’s friend said: “She knows there are commitment issues.“Currently this is not serious but the beginnings of a promising relationship.”
Simon’s agent Max Clifford said: “There’s been or two or three very attractive ladies who people are asking about in relation to Simon — and I’m not sure of any of them.”
