Art of living is also connected with nature in many spiritual way. More we are going away from nature to jungle of pebbles more we are being separated from the main energy of the life.
This is what recently department of Visual Arts, University of Rajasthan, wanted to tell in a sculpture workshop in its premises coordinated by the Italian artist Miss Giorgia Severi.
The concept of the workshop was ‘Home instead of conventional materials'. It tried to introduce non conventional materials easily available in and around the surroundings.
The students were asked to incorporate natural space, the trees and bamboo like things in life. The effort was to bring students more close to land and nature.
About 21 sculpture students participated in the workshop and conceptualized their design of loving home in the given natural surroundings.
Assistant professor Mr Thomas John Kovvoor said “Acually our idea was to inspire the students to use unusable materials in art.
"We gave them a theme HOME and they depicted it with different kinds of available trees, grass and natural materials and designed within limited resources."
Miss Giorgia Severi who coordinated the workshop was happy to see the enthusiasm of the students.
She said “ It was an opportunity for them to work on some thing different than routine work with unconventional materials . It was a very satisfying experience.
