New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President M. Hamid Ansari has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi, Vishu, Rongali Bihu, Vaiskhadi, Puthandu Pirappu, Naba Barsha and Bahag Bihu.
The President of India Pranab Mukherjee in his message on the Vaisakhi has said: -
“On the joyous occasion of Vaisakhi, I extend warm greetings and felicitations to all my fellow citizens, particularly those engaged in cultivation and agriculture.
Vaisakhi celebrates the sweat and toil of our farmers who bring good harvests and happiness to our homes.
Let us on this day, show gratitude to Mother Earth and pledge to protect nature for its best blessings on our lives. On this happy occasion, let us share our happiness with one and all, especially those who are in need. Let us resolve to re-double our efforts to contribute to the nation’s prosperity, unity and fraternity”.
In his other message on Vishu, Rongali Bihu, Vaiskhadi, Puthandu Pirappu and Naba Barsha which are being celebrated on April 13-15, 2017 President Pranab Mukherjee has said:-
“On the auspicious occasion of Vishu, Rongali Bihu, Vaisakhadi, Puthandu Pirappu and Naba Barsha, I extend good wishes and felicitations to all my countrymen in India and abroad.
These festivals heralding the New Year are celebrated differently in different parts of our country with zeal and enthusiasm. May the promise of the New Year be fulfilled through greater prosperity and happiness for our people, as they strive to build a strong and progressive nation”.
The Vice President M. Hamid Ansari has greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi, Vishu, Puthandu, Masadi, Vaishkhadi and Bahag Bihu.
In a message, he said that these festivals, associated with the onset of harvest season, reflect the rich agrarian traditions and composite culture of our country.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has greeted the people on Baisakhi.
“बैसाखी की सà¤à¥€ देशवासियों को बहà¥à¤¤-बहà¥à¤¤ शà¥à¤à¤•à¤¾à¤®à¤¨à¤¾à¤à¤‚," the Prime Minister said.
