Varanasi: A young IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh is making the Prime Minister Naredra Modi dream become a reality in his constituency. Sunil Verma, CDO, Varanasi has started an initiative named Swatchh Kashi: under this initiative on the occasion of rakshabandhan he asked the youth of the district to gift a toilet to their sister as Rakshabandhan gift and they have to take a selfie with the toilet gifted.
Now he has came up with an idea to make the villagers aware of the swakchta mission through Special screening of movie "Toilet ek Prem Katha" at Chhavi Mahal Cinema Hall, Chaukaghat, Varanasi arranged by district administration for 1018 lady Pradhan and Swatchhagrahi to create awareness about toilets.
Some of these women had seen movie in the hall for first time. The movie was a great motivator for them as it associated women dignity with toilets.
Varanasi has a target to make 1.83 lac toilets by 31 December 2017 to declare Varanasi open dedication free. ' We are now making 761 toilets per day. Out of 8 blocks, 4 blocks will be declared ODF by 02 October,' he said.
