Man-elephant conflict in Sundergarh, One more killed

Sundergarh: The man-elephant conflict continues to take grim proportions with one more death of a villager was reported from Nuagaon block of Sundergarh district today.
The mishap took place early in the morning when one Ishak Kujur of Kadopani village, who had gone to attend nature’s call, encountered a wild elephant that had strayed into human settlement and was trampled to death.
On receiving information, forest officials reached the spot and expedited efforts to disperse wild elephants lurking along villages near the forest area to avert any further eventuality.
Sources said a herd of about 16 elephants have been causing menace in the area for past few days.
In last one month, as many as seven persons have lost their lives in elephant attacks in Sundergarh.
