Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been hogging all the limelight ever since she posted a tweet on the farmers' protest against the farms bill. The 'Queen' star misidentified an elderly Sikh woman, who took part in the protests, as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh. Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh, who has worked in a couple of Hindi films, took to social media to slam Kangana for sharing posts about the farmers' protests without verifying facts. The 'Udta Punjab' actor shared a video of an elderly woman named Mahinder Kaur and called out Ranaut for wrongly identifying her.
In her now deleted tweet, Kangana Ranaut wrote, "Ha ha ha, she is the same dadi who featured in Time magazine for being the most powerful Indian... And she is available in 100 rupees. Pakistani journos have hijacked international PR for India in an embarrassing way. We need our own people to speak for us internationally."
Diljit took a jibe at the actress and wrote, "A person should not be so blind that he/she says anything without thinking." Kangana didn't take kindly to Diljit's post and called the 'Phillauri' actor 'Karan Johar's pet'. For the uninitiated, Diljit worked in 'Good Newwz', which released in 2019. The film co-starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani was produced by Karan Johar.
"Ooo Karan johar ke paltu, jo dadi Saheen Baag mein apni citizenship keliye protest kar rahi thi wohi Bilkis Bano dadi ji Farmers ke MSP ke liye bhi protest karti hue dikhi. Mahinder Kaur ji ko toh main janti bhi nahin. Kya drama chalaya hai tum logon ne? Stop this right now," the 'Manikarnika' actress tweeted.
Diljit hit back at Kangana and asked her if she is the 'pet' of the filmmakers with whom she has worked in several movies. "You know very well how to play with emotions and instigate people by telling lies," his tweet read
Kangana Ranaut & Diljit Dosanjh's Twitter Feud Kangana and Diljit's fight grabbed several eyeballs for obvious reasons and the two popular celebs even trended on social media. The 'Judgementall Hai Kya' actress, while replying to Dosanjh's tweet, said that she only commented on Shaheen Bagh's protestor and she is ready to apologise if proven otherwise.
Diljit responded to Kangana and said that he doesn't need to struggle in Bollywood as the filmmakers offer him projects. Check out their tweets which have set several tongues wagging.
Diljit also replied to a troll, who asked the singer to not criticise the National Award winning actress. One user tweeted, "Diljit, you won't get films by taking potshots at her." The Punjabi heartthrob replied, "We can produce our own films here, we don't require anyone. Please ask her to speak to our mothers with respect."
On the professional front, Kangana will be next in 'Thalaivi'. She also has 'Dhaakad' and 'Tejas' in her kitty. Talking about Dosanjh, he was recently seen in 'Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari'.
