Narendra Giri Death Case Prime Accused Anand Giri 14-Day Judicial Custody Lucknow: Anand Giri, who is the prime accused in the death case of All India Akhara Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri, was on Wednesday sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

This took place after he was produced before the CJM court in Prayagraj in connection with the case.

Hanuman temple’s chief priest Aadya Tiwari, who was arrested earlier on Tuesday in connection with this case, has also been sent to judicial custody.

The police had earlier grilled Anand Giri for around 12 hours in connection with the case.

Anand Giri had earlier said it is a conspiracy against him.

“It’s a big conspiracy by the people, who used to extort money from Guru ji and wrote my name in the letter. It needs to be investigated as Guru ji hasn't written a letter in his life and couldn't do any suicide, his handwriting needs to be probed,” he told ANI.

“I have spent my entire life over there and never took any money. Everything was good between me and Guru ji and hence I request the government to investigate the matter thoroughly,” he added.

Mahant Narendra Giri was found dead in his room at the Baghambari Math in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Monday evening.

Anand Giri was detained in Haridwar on Monday night and subsequently arrested by the police.

An FIR naming him was registered under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC at the George Town Police Station in Prayagraj.
