Sri Lanka Embassy celebrates 75th National Day, SWAN, Movement of Positivity facilitate New Delhi: As Sri Lanka celebrates its 75 years of Independence, Friends of Sri Lanka, SWAN Foundation and Movement of Positivity joined hands in celebrating the island country’s National Day in New Delhi.

Other than Ambassador of Sri Lanka to India Asoka Milinda Moragoda and his wife Jennifer Moragoda and Ambassador Dr Dnyneshwar Mulay, Member Human Rights Commission and Founder MoP, the event was graced by Ambassadors of Israel to India Naor Gilon, High Commissioner of Maldives to India Ibrahim Shaheeb, Deputy High Commissioner of Korea Sangwoo Lim, DCM Sri Lanka Niluka Kadurugamuva, DCM Bangladesh Md Nurul Islam, Ambassador Manju Seth, Ambassador Atul Gotsurve, Ambassador from SAARC University Thanglura Darlong, Director General, Income Tax, HRD Sadhna Shankar and Positive Rishikumar, President Movement Of Positivity.

Welcoming the guests Ambassador Dr Dnyneshwar Mulay emphasized on the special relationship between India & Sri Lanka. He also mentioned that India was fully committed to cooperate with Sri Lanka, particularly in these challenging times for that country.

Thanking India for the financial and logistical support Ambassador of Sri Lanka Moragoda spoke about the two countrys’ relations since the days of Ramayan when Sita spent her days in Lanka. He informed about the areas of collaborations and assistance that India can help Sri Lanka with. He counted particularly on Tourism, Energy and Addhar Technology sharing.

Dr Jayant Khandare, Chief Scientist, Actorius Innovations & Research, India & USA, on patent innovation in Health sector gave a special address on rapid spread of cancer and the failure of health care system in addressing the dreaded disease.

India and Sri Lanka relations go back to 2500 years and have built upon a legacy of intellectual, cultural, religious & linguistic heritage. India’s MoS Murlidharan visited Colombo on Feb 4 to take part in Sri Lanka’s 75th anniversary of our diplomatic relations and met the President Wickremesinghe & Foreign Minister MUM Ali Sabry. Sri Lanka is Inida’s close neighbor & friend & occupies a central place in India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. India is committed to stand with the people of Sri Lanka for their economic recovery, growth and prosperity.
