New Delhi: As part of the Swachh Bharath scheme of Govt. of India, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research has installed water purification plants at 4 locations at a cost of Rs 15 Lakhs namely at Sadras Fishermen Colony (500 LPH) , Kavakarai Sadras (500 LPH), KV2 Kalpakkam (2 units of 250 LPH) and Government Hospital,Tirukazhukundram (500 LPH).
This would meet the needs of hospital patients , residents of the respective villages and the students of the school. The units were dedicated to the public on September 14, 2023 by Dr. B. Venkatraman, Distinguished Scientist & Director IGCAR, and Smt. Revathi Swaminathan, Panchayat President of Sadras Village at 10.30 hrs in the presence of Shri R Sethuraman, Chief Administrative officer , IGCAR, Dr Ponraju Associate Director , HISG, SQRMG, Dr. Vidya Sundararajan , Associate Director, RESG, SQRMG, Smt Radhika Sai kannan , Deputy controller of Accounts, Ms Vanaja Nagaraju , Associate Director , GSO , Dr V Subramanian, Head RESD, Dr S Chandrasekaran , Senior Scientist & Shri Viswanathan.
The unit at Tirukazukundram, was dedicated to the public at 16.00 hrs at the Thirukundram hospital premises in the presence of Shri Durai Dhanasekar, State Secretary, BJP, Thirukundram.
