Hyderabad: 3 day Congress Working Committee’s first meeting will be held in Hyderabad on Septermber 16, 2023 which will be attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Former Congress Presidents, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi and all other Working Committee Members including permanent invitees and special invitees.
AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal informed that the CWC meeting will be attended by 84 out of 90 invited people including four Chief Ministers. This CWC will discuss about the state election preparations. Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, are going for election later this year.
Venugopal said we are very sure that Indian National Congress is going to form the government in these five states including Telangana. He said, since TRS is ruling the state, entire Telangana has become the most corrupt state in this country, everywhere corruption, misgovernance, people are fed up with this government.
This Congress Working Committee is going to have a discussion on elections and election preparation and election events.
Hitting at the PM’s silence on Manipur Venugopal said that for 130 days, Manipur was burning, there is no response from the government. The state government, he said, is totally sidelined with some vested interests. Therefore Manipur will be a point of discussion.
Talking of the armymen who were killed in Anantnaag he said, ‘our four brave jawans lost their lives. Where is the government, where is the nationalism of this BJP government? China is occupying most of our lands. Our external policy will be discussed.’

After the Working Committee meeting an Extended Working Committee Meeting will be held along with the CWC members, permanent invitees, all the PCC presidents, CLP Leaders and Parliamentary Party office bearers, Central Election Committee Members are invited too. Out of 159 invited people, 147 people will attending the meeting.
Venugopal said, if Congress wins in Telangana, within one month, we will fulfil the guarantees. Congress is planning massive events of CWC Working Committee, Extended Working Committee in the 115 constituencies, he announced.
On Congress boycotting anchors Venugopal said, media is the saviour of democracy. The media’s role is to correct the government, but unfortunately, some of the media people have only one way to support the government and demolish the opposition. This is not a journalism. This is clearly a sponsored journalism for Modi government, that is why INDIA Alliance decided that.
Venugopal further said, ‘Our fight is with Narendra Modi government. Our principal enemy in politics is BJP and their ideology. We are fighting with them tooth and nail.
On another question about the Women Reservation Bill, Shri K.C. Venugopal said- Women Reservation Bill is the child of the Congress Party. We passed that bill in a house.
Jairam Ramesh said we have been asking for Women Reservation Bill since last 10 years.
