New Delhi: Travel is about experiences and learning and the industry is evolving not just for travelers but for the ones in this business too. A 2 day luxury travel show, The Iconic Experience Show, was held in New Delhi that brought a host of travel stakeholders both from India and abroad under one umbrella. Keeping Luxury segment as its main target, TIES 2023 focused on 5 sectors of the industry – Weddings, Wellness, Leisure, Conferences and Sustainability. It was attended by Travel Tourism and Hospitality professionals along with Government officials and people from the field of Yoga and Wellness.
Speaking on the occasion President TAAI & Director & Curator Jyoti Mayal said, ‘My concept in bringing this show together was to show people who have not been able to understand, including our membership, how to add value to our customer, be different, not loose out on business, create a loyality programme. We need to create experiences for our customers.
Emphasizing that new stakeholders have to adapt & adopt things beautiful, curated & sustainable, Mayal said, ‘the key take away’s were on wellness, how to do conference, changing medical tourism, leisure, customer loyality, & how customer experiences are coming out along with sustainability vibes and women as power centres.
Mayal said travel business need to change otherwise they need to stop crying that there is no business or about competition.
From multi-tasking talented women to those who are outweighing men in performance numbers, the last session was all about women empowerment. Titled ‘Women Powering Sustainability Goals’ this session was addressed by Rupinder Brar, Commissioner of Income Tax, Govt. of India, Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson & Managing Director, Bharat Hotels Limited, Varija Bajaj, Fashion Designer, Founder, Varija Lifestyles, O&Y, Lela, Varija Home, Varija Life & THE CAREER and Shobha Rudra, Founder partner, RARE India.
The first day sessions saw deliberations, TED talks and presentations. The speakers included Acharya Pratishtha, Yog & Spiritual Guru, Former Diplomat HCI Mauritius Ministry of External Affairs & Director, Mokshayatan Yog Sansthan; Sadhvi Pragya Bharti, Spiritual Leader & Co-Founder - Sambhav International Foundation and Yudhistir Govinda Das, Country Director of Communications & National Spokesperson, ISKCON India. Aditya Ghosh, Co-Founder, Akasa Air and Kapil Kaul, CEO & Director, CAPA Advisory.
Weddings, being a major segment of Luxury tourism, the main speakers were Chetan Vohra, Managing Director, Line Communications & Weddingline; Vandana Mohan, Founder, The Wedding Design Company; Dr. Sanjana Jon, Social Activist & Fashion Designer and Asmita Chakraborty, Miss Tourism India 2021.
