PM Modi Flags Off Six Vande Bharat Trains Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged-off six Vande Bharat trains on Sunday at Tatanagar Junction Railway Station in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur. He virtually launched Tatanagar-Patna Vande Bharat train.

Modi will lay the foundation stone for and inaugurate various railway projects valued at over Rs. 660 crore, according to the PMO statement. He is scheduled to distribute sanction letters to 20,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) during his visit to Tatanagar, Jharkhand. 

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the PM will also address a massive rally organised by the BJP in Jamshedpur, while sources said a roadshow is planned, PTI reported citing sources. 

  1. The six newly inaugurated Vande Bharat trains will operate on the following routes: Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah.

  2. The six new Vande Bharat trains set to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday will provide faster connectivity, safer travel, and a variety of passenger amenities, according to the Railway authorities.


  1. So far, 54 Vande Bharat trains are operating across country.

  2. The new trains will expand the rapidly growing fleet of this modern innovation to 60 train sets. This increase will result in 120 daily trips, reaching over 280 districts across 24 states and union territories, PTI cited a statement from the railway ministry.

  3. The new trains are expected to enhance religious tourism in the region by offering faster connectivity to key pilgrimage sites such as Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar (Jharkhand), Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Kalighat and Belur Math in Kolkata (West Bengal).

  4. The first Vande Bharat Express train was launched on February 15, 2019, operating on the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route, with a top speed of 160 kilometres per hour.

  5. "The Vande Bharat Portfolio is ever-expanding with new train services being added for enhanced connectivity," the statement read. "Indigenously designed under the 'Make in India' initiative, it offers cutting-edge features delivering luxury and efficiency to millions of passengers,” it added.
